Let's talk about that Death Stranding Trailer...
Hideo Kojima dropped a whopping 9 minute trailer on his upcoming game Death Stranding, where we finally got some details about gameplay and a backstory about the world the game takes place in. Where do I even start...
Well I can start with where the trailer begins. We see Mads Mikkelsen, singing to a baby fetus in a see through container, shots of Sam, played by Norman Reedus best known for his role of Daryl on the Walking Dead series, riding a futuristic motorcycle across the plains, while a giant storm barrels towards him, and we also see Sam speaking with the President of the United States, who is a bedridden woman who seems to be begging for Sam to "make America whole" to which Sam says "Bridgette, you're the President of jack shit." which is way too fitting. It seems Sam is working for an organization called Bridges, who's goal is to reconnect all of America, to create a society that resembles something of what we currently live in. However there seems to be many, many obstacles in your way. Militant groups who's goal is to keep the land in anarchy and BT's which we find out are the ominous creatures who (from what we can assume) have almost invaded the whole world.
We get gameplay of placing ladders and using rope to climb down caverns, we also see Sam strap on a Bridge Baby, one of those babies Mads was singing to earlier, and we find out that Sam cannot see the BT's but he CAN sense them. This might be a hint that he's either at a deficit not being able to see them or special somehow because he can sense them. Honestly the only way we're going to figure this out is when the game releases on November 8th, 2019. Oh and that's the release date... did I forget to mention that?
I honestly don't have any idea what to expect coming into this game, and that's something we don't get too often when a game is announced, so that makes me excited to play! Death Stranding drops November 8th, 2019 on Playstation 4.
