Here's Your Next Binge!
I've been watching a lot of streaming services lately, and they offer so many great shows both originals and ones from networks. I'm going to give a few recommendations of shows that are worth binging right now!
1. Brooklyn-99 (Hulu)
This is honestly one of my favorite shows right now. All the characters are hilarious and the antics the squad gets into are the best. Some of my favorite episodes would have to be all of the Halloween Heists. There are so many intricacies about this show which make it so great! Like adding LGBT characters in ways that don't stereotype anyone. The jokes are on point and subtle at the same time, everything about this show is great, it's the first time in a while where I've actually been excited to watch the next episode.
Overall- 10/10
2. The Act (Hulu)
The first Hulu original to make this list, and it's an exceptional one. The Act follows the story of Gypsy Rose, a young girl who as you watch, find out is being medically abused by her mother Dee Dee. Needless surgeries performed on a helpless girl who doesn't know any better. It follows Dee Dee and Gypsy over the years before Gypsy takes actions into her own hands, or rather her new boyfriend's hands. The Act is a great binge that kept me watching week after week as new episodes came out. Now that all of them have been released, hop on Hulu and knock this one out! Gypsy Rose!!!!
Overall- 9.5/10
3. Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil And Vile (Netflix)
This movie follows the events of Ted Bundy while he is being hunted by the police. You find that he has taken shelter almost by living along side Elizabeth Kloepfer, a young single mom unsuspecting of who Ted really is. We are taken into the courtroom as Ted tries to defend himself, all while we see the ramifications of spending time with Ted has done to Elizabeth, after she learns of the allegations against him. This movie has its moments and really shines with the performances by Zac Efron and Lily Collins as the two main characters.
Overall- 7.5/10
4. One Punch Man Season 2 (Hulu)
While the original studio who worked on Season 1 of One Punch isn't in control of the series anymore, the tale of the overpowered hero for fun continues. Although some fans saw the trailer for the second season and noticed what seemed to be a downgrade in animation style. Because after season one, I thought it would be hard to top. However this season is bringing in the next big bad who wants to challenge Saitama. Garou is the self proclaimed Human-Monster, who takes down anyone who gets in his way. So it should be exciting to see where this season takes us and if Garou has any shot of hurting our hero with a cape.
Overall- Full Review Coming After Season Ends
5. 11.22.63 (Hulu)
Another Hulu Original featuring James Franco, asks one question. What if JFK was never killed that day? What would happen to the world? A small town diner owner thinks everything would improve. Our main character Jake just lost his wife to divorce, and doesn't have much but his teaching job at the towns high school. It all takes a turn when Al, the aforementioned diner owner, shows Jake a portal. A time portal to the year 1960. However, no matter how much time you spend in the past, when you come back it's always 2 minutes after the moment you went in. This is a great period piece for the 60's as it includes historically accurate information about what people suspected in Kennedy's assassination, were doing in the years before his death. This is a great watch.
Overall- 8/10
