Modern Warfare's First Year Of Post Launch Content Revealed!
Today was a big day for Modern Warfare players! The Call Of Duty Twitter released a slate of new content coming to the game starting December 3rd across all platforms, calling it "the biggest free content drop in Call Of Duty history" and that's no understatement.
The content drop is comprised of six different parts. Players are getting new multiplayer maps, a new ground war map, new 2v2 gunfight maps, 3 new multiplayer modes, several new Spec Ops missions, and two new guns. Now let's get into some more detail about it all!
The multiplayer maps aren't really "new" in the sense that they're being brought from the original Cod 4: Modern Warfare. Crash, Shipment, and Vacant are all maps that players of the original game are going to recognize immediately. Crash and Vacant are more "typical" Cod maps, and especially after a large portion of the Modern Warfare community were complaining about the weak map pool at launch, these maps are going to be a go to for those players looking for that old school Cod feel. Shipment is also one of those iconic maps from the original MW. This very small map was made famous by being the 1v1 go to arena. Can't wait to see the 725 on this map.....
The multiplayer modes coming in this year one drop are called Reinforce, Gunfight OSP, and Infected. So hopefully these add some more flavor to the game mode pool we already have, although Infinity Ward has done an excellent job at rotating and adding in game modes every week, it feels like there's always something new every time I start up the game.
There are two new guns coming as well, the Ram-7, and the Holger-26. The Ram-7 reminds me a lot of the M-Tar from Black Ops 2. While the Holger-26 has a drum mag on the bottom and could honestly be a shotgun or some type of assault rifle, but my money's on it being a shotgun. Plus we need more distractions from the 725.
I'm sure players are going to love this content drop, mainly because it's entirely free. Shoutout Infinity Ward and Activision for making that happen.
