Ever Heard Of The Stream Wars?

At this point if Disney wanted to set up a government they would probably be the most powerful country in the world.

Disney has so much reach and so much power these days, it's impossible for them to lose. With FOUR billion (with a B) dollar movies in 2019... with it only being August... Disney has been reaping the benefits from all those acquisitions they've been making the past couple years. And I think they delivered the final blow to the stream wars yesterday. A bundle... to end all bundles. Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu... for $12.99. Movies, TV Shows, and Sports. And don't worry if you have Hulu already! If you purchase this bundle you'll be receiving an upgrade to your account! So say goodbye to ads, but it does mean you've got another bill.

I don't know how Netflix could combat this. Especially since the streaming service has been steadily increasing its prices the past years. An obvious price drop sure. But is it too late? I actually think it is, and we're going to be seeing a power shift to Disney+ and Hulu being the predominant services people are going to gravitate towards, especially given that bundle. The HD plan Netflix offers is already starting at $12.99. Hulu does nothing of the sort, it's either ads or no ads, and I honestly don't mind the ads sometimes... gives me time to run to grab a snack.

We'll see who comes out on top in this battle, however I don't see Netflix just, disappearing off the planet, they've grown much too large. What I think this leads too, is higher quality content for the consumer due to competition. So what's the worst thing we get out of this? Better Black Mirror in season 6
hopefully.
